The High Deviation alarm applies when the value deviates from the previous value by the alarm setpoint. The deviation can be either positive or negative.

Alarm Deadband

Analog points have an Alarm Deadband option. This option applies to alarm resets. The point’s value must clear the deadband value before the alarm bit will be cleared.

Example

If the High Alarm setpoint is 300 and the Alarm Deadband is 10, the value must clear 290 before the alarm bit is reset. The AlarmDeadband option helps prevent chattering.
